Is the NomadView portable monitor compatible with my device?
Yes — our portable monitors work with all laptops and desktop computers. You can connect in two ways:
- USB-C (using the included cable)
- HDMI (using the included cable)
They also work with tablets (both iOS and Android). Some iPad Pro M4 and M5 models may require a Thunderbolt cable or a USB-C to HDMI adapter/cable.
To connect the monitor directly to a smartphone via USB-C, your phone’s USB-C port must support DisplayPort (DP) Alt Mode, which allows USB-C to carry a video signal.
How does the monitor get power?
For most modern laptops, the monitor pulls power through the same USB-C cable that also carries the video signal—so you typically won’t need an external power supply. A power adapter is included if external power is required.
The monitor also supports 40W pass-through power delivery. That means you can plug your laptop charger into the monitor, and it can power the monitor while charging your laptop at the same time.
If you connect via HDMI, you’ll need to power the monitor separately using the included power brick + USB-C cable. Everything you need is in the box.
Why doesn’t my USB-C cable work?
Your monitor includes two USB-C cables:
“Power Cable”: power only — it does not support video.
USB-C video cable: supports video (and power, depending on your device).
If your screen isn’t displaying an image, make sure you’re using the USB-C video cable, not the one labeled Power Cable.
Does the magnet interfere with the electronics inside the monitor?
No — the magnet will not interfere with the monitor’s electronics.
It’s strong enough to hold the monitor securely, but the magnetic field isn’t nearly powerful enough to affect internal components. The parts inside the display are also small and properly shielded, so they won’t be impacted by the stand’s compact neodymium magnet.
On top of that, the stand has been rigorously tested to meet safety and performance standards, including checks for electromagnetic interference (EMI). The results show the magnet poses no risk to the monitor’s performance or lifespan.
What is covered by the warranty?
We’re confident your portable monitor will deliver a great experience. For extra peace of mind, it comes with a simple, straightforward warranty.
Coverage
NomadView warrants the portable monitor against defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of purchase. If an issue covered by the warranty occurs during this period, we will repair or replace (at our discretion) the defective part or the entire unit at no cost.
Note: you may be responsible for shipping costs.
What’s not covered (exclusions)
This warranty does not cover:
Misuse or accidental damage
Alterations or unauthorized repairs/modifications
Normal wear and tear
Damage caused by using the product against the user manual
Issues caused by incompatible devices or accessories
If any of the above applies, the warranty may be void.
